Forget lack of will-power. Here are the 7 real reasons you continue to procrastinate, put things off, feel stuck, unmotivated, disappointed and angry with yourself!

Or read below.

#1 You aren't in charge.

Nope...your body is. And when you take on a challenging task (let’s face it, no one ever procrastinated over watching Netflix with a bowl of chips!), never mind that you know that if/when you complete it you’ll get that hit of Dopamine and all those Endorphins flooding your system.

No, right now Cortisol (the stress hormone) is in charge and it doesn’t feel good!

#2 You identify too strongly with your habit

How often do you say ‘I procrastinate’, ‘I always do things at the last minute’, ‘I keep putting it off’ ?

Right back when you were little, all those tedious chores, tidying your room, doing your homework, created this Identity of a person-who-waits-till-they-absolutely-have-to in order to get things done.

#3 Other people sabotage you

How many people around you are also procrastinating and bemoaning the fact? If you get on with it, won’t you feel like a rat deserting a sinking ship?

Other people don't exactly want you to fail, but they won't like it if you rock the boat of what's comfortable and accepted - there’s nothing more bonding than struggling in company.

#4 A part of you doesn't want to succeed

We're all familiar with the fear of failure (ugh, shame, self-loathing, disappointment) but what about the fear of success?

When you think of getting on with things and making real changes in your life does a part of you scream at you 'You'll be overwhelmed/stressed/lonely/different!'? No, thank you.

#5 Life gets in the way

Trying to complete a project and a big family event's coming up...try coping with that one!

Between stress, peer pressure and unfamiliar routines and territory, it's no wonder we go off the rails and give in to the status quo.

#6 You don't have a strong enough 'why' for quitting procrastination

We humans need motivation in order to change our habits. Think of 'the carrot and the stick.' The pain, shame and negative effects of procrastination will fuel your will-power for a while...

but for long-term results you need pleasure and a positive reason for turning into an action powerhouse!

#7 You don't interrupt the 'thoughts lead to inaction' pattern

The day I realized that 'I’m not in the mood ' didn't mean that I automatically had to stop doing it was the day I became liberated from procrastination.

With an attitude of playful curiousity, 'Oh, that's interesting, I'm thinking that again', you can intercept and interrupt your thoughts and get right on with what you really want.

So now you know the REAL reasons, would you like to find out HOW to dissolve them all and breakthrough procrastination quickly and easily for once and for all?
