Last week I wanted to hide under the duvet!
Instead I did something that makes my stomach drop, my cheeks burn, and my inner child throw a full-on tantrum.
I went Live. Twice.
Once on Instagram, once on YouTube, each time with a wonderful colleague.
And honestly?
I hate Lives.
Why? Because the thoughts start spiraling:
What if I ramble? Or do a stupid laugh?
What if I’m too much?
What if no one finds it interesting?
What if I say something that gets me into trouble?!
Sound familiar?
Whether it’s speaking up in a meeting, sharing your offerings online, performing, or even pressing "post" on a heartfelt message — putting ourselves out there can feel incredibly vulnerable.
And yet… so often, it’s exactly the step that moves us forward. Creatively. Professionally. Personally.
So, instead of letting the fear run the show, I’ll be practicing what I preach: Tapping (here's a Confidence Booster Tapping Round), a minute of Qigong shaking, and some affirmations to remind myself of what's more true than my fear.
I wanted I’d share them with you too — in case you’re facing your own "EEK!" moment this week.
10 Affirmations for When You’re About to Show Up (and Freaking Out a Bit)
- I don’t have to be perfect to make a difference.
- Someone out there needs to hear what I have to say.
- It's more powerful to be real than polished.
- I’m allowed to take up space - I'm showing up, not showing off!
- I trust that the right words will come.
- This is about connection, not perfection.
- It’s safe for me to be seen.
- I release the pressure to impress.
- I'm remembering: Engage, Don't Prove
- I choose courage over comfort — just for today.
If one of those resonates with you, write it on a sticky note, tap along with it, or whisper it to yourself before doing your brave thing. And hit reply and let me know too!
I DID IT! And I've been celebrating ever since!
And here you can check out my LIVE TAG TEAM TAPPING WITH BRAD YATES of EFT and YouTube fame - CLEAR THE FEAR OF BEING SEEN.
Tap along with us on the fears and doubts, the messages we received, sadness and regret ('I should've done more') and even gratitude for the people who support our visibility.
And PLEASE, if you like the video, give it a thumbs up there on YouTube and leave me a comment. Can't wait to hear from you! 😀
